Use the mouse to display the task
bar. On the task bar check to see
if the print controller program is
open.
Open the print controller program
to verity that the software
recognizes the print controller.
It should display V80i or V84i
depending on the model of the
controller.
Verity that the print controller has
power, checking that the power
LED is illuminated.
Visually inspect the
communication cable between
the controller and the computer,
looking for breaks or damage.
Visually inspect the print head. Try
purging ink onto a scrap piece of
lumber.

The pump is located in the printer
cabinet, as well as a pressure
gauge and regulator and check the
pressure.
Verify that ink reservoir is filled.
Check the encoder wheel. Make
sure it spins as the board travels
into the saw cabinet.
Check that the coupling on the
wheel is intact and not damaged
or broken.
Check for ink residue on the face of
the sensor.
Check the height of the print
sensor.
Verify that lumber is against the
back fence as it feeds past the
printer and into the saw.
Verify that the timing and
sequence of the infeed process is

directly on the print head until it is
clean of all ink residue.
Adjust the regulator.
Bleed air out of lines and try
printing again.
Adjust the spring on the encoder
wheel to raise or lower the encoder
wheel to a height that allows it to
spin as the board enters the saw.
Replace the encoder wheel if the
coupling is damaged or broken.
Use Matthews cleaner on the face
to the print sensor to remove ink
residue.
Lower or raise the print sensor by
adjusting the nuts on the top and
bottom of its threaded section.
Check for and clear any mechanical
blockage preventing the lumber
