Cleaning the drive

Basic cleaning

1. Remove any loose dirt.
2. If necessary, hose down the drive.

Thorough cleaning

1. Switch off the mains power.
2. Ensure the drive is dry.
3. Detach the control panel (a), cover (b) and cable glands (c).
Note: Ensure that water or dust does not enter the drive.
4. Clean the components and gaskets with a damp, clean piece of cloth.
5. Re-assemble the drive and check the gaskets visually.
6. Perform basic cleaning.

Internal fan

The drive's internal cooling fan has a life span of approximately 25 000 operating
hours. The actual life span depends on the drive usage and ambient temperature.
If the drive is operated in a critical part of a process, fan replacement is
recommended before it has been in use for 25 000 hours or three years.
Replacement fans are available from ABB. Do not use other than ABB specified
spare parts.
The factory setting for the operating hour counter (parameter 2901, see the ACS355
user's manual) is 23 000 hours. The Notice Handler Assistant informs you when the
drive has been in use for the defined number of hours.
