2. Select the bus coupler.
3. Assign the device names.
This name may only appear once in the system configuration. It may be maximum 240 characters
long and must comply with the following DNS conventions:
Letters, numbers, hyphens and periods are permitted. Umlauts and other special characters are
not permitted.
The device name may not begin with a number.
The device name may not begin or end with a hyphen.
The device name may not begin with the character string "port-x" (x = 0–9).
Example: AVENTICS AES
A name is not assigned on delivery.
The device name is transferred to the bus coupler after you assign it.
4. Assign an appropriate IP address and subnet mask.
If automatic IP address assignment is used, the controller automatically assigns the IP address and
subnet mask to the module which are assigned to the device name in the controller.
In case of manual IP address assignment, the IP adress and the subnet mask have to be assigned
to the bus coupler according to the same principle as the device name.
Example:
IP address: 192.168.0.3
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
