Setting the bus coupler parameters

The characteristics of the valve system are influenced by the different parameters that you set
in the controller. You can use these parameters to determine the responses of the bus coupler and
the I/O modules.
This section only describes the parameters for the bus coupler. The parameters of the I/O zone and
the pressure regulators are explained in the system description of the individual I/O modules
or in the operating instructions for the AV-EP pressure regulators. The system description of the bus
coupler explains the parameters for the valve driver boards.
The following parameters can be set for the bus coupler:
Send or do not send diagnostic messages
Response to an interruption in PROFINET IO communication
Response to an error (backplane failure)
Sequence of the bytes in a 16-bit word
The selection of possible bus coupler parameters is displayed in the configuration file in the PLC
configuration program.
Enter the corresponding parameters in your PLC configuration program.
The parameters and configuration data are not saved locally by the bus coupler. They are sent
from the PLC to the bus coupler and the installed modules on startup.

Setting parameters for the modules

The parameters for the modules are described in the configuration file in the same way as those
for the bus system. The selection options are displayed in the PLC configuration program.
Set the parameters according to the prevailing conditions.
5.5.2

Parameters for diagnostic messages

The bus coupler can send a manufacturer-specific diagnosis. To do this, the parameters must be set
for diagnostic messages.
Diagnostic message activated: The diagnosis will be forwarded to the controller.
Diagnostic message deactivated: The diagnosis will not be forwarded to the controller
(presetting).
If you deactivate sending diagnostic messages via the parameters when a diagnostic message
is present, the slave must be restarted (power reset) in order to reset the diagnostic message.
If you activate sending diagnostic messages via the parameters when a diagnostic message
is present, this diagnostic message will not be sent to the controller. It will only be sent after
a restart (power reset) of the slave or if the diagnostic message appears again.
The bus coupler diagnostic message is structured as follows:
Each diagnosis that is reported consists of two 16-bit numbers. The first number defines the
diagnostic group (e.g. bus coupler or module number) and the second number the reason for the
diagnosis (e.g. actuator voltage < 21.6 V or group diagnosis).
The diagnostic values are linked via the GSDML file to text messages that can be displayed.
A separate diagnostic message is generated for each error, so that only one value has to be
transferred for the User Structure Identifier (USI) and one value for the diagnostic data.
