Mowing with the aerator roller
The Hattrick is a unique lawn-
mower in that it has an aerator
roller which can be switched on
and which removes moss and
matted grass during mowing.
The Hattrick is not a cultivator
which is used once or twice a
year. It aerates the lawn effec-
tively by repeated use and
removes a very great deal of
moss and matted grass in this
way. The aerator depth is
adjustable and is regulated via
the central cutting height adjust-
ment. The grass should not be
higher than approx. 50 mm
when you switch on the aerator
roller as otherwise no aeration

Mowing with the grass collecting
bag attached
The grass collecting bag must be
emptied as soon as residue
grass remains on the lawn dur-
ing the mowing operation.

effect will be achieved. More-
over, long pieces of grass can
become stuck in the aerator
roller.
Use in Spring
The lawn needs air after the
winter period. If there is a large
amount of moss and matted
grass in the lawn you can switch
on the aerator roller regularly.
The recommended cutting height
is approx. 30 – 40 mm.
The aerator springs work at soil
level and remove moss and mat-
ted grass. Air, water and nutri-
ents can penetrate into the soil
again. The lawn becomes more
attractive, denser and tougher.
Use in Summer
In dry weather it is important to
prevent the lawn grass from dry-

To remove the grass collecting
bag, lift up the protecting flap
on the lawnmower with one
hand. With the other hand,
remove the grass collecting sack
at the bearing rod. If you let go
of the protecting flap, this closes
automatically and seals off the
discharge orifice. If residue
grass remains in the discharge
orifice, the lawnmower should
be pulled back by approx. 1m
so that the residue grass can fall
ing out or turning brown. There-
fore do not cut it too short. We
recommend a cutting height of
40 – 45 mm. The aerator roller
can be switched on every 2nd
or 3rd time the lawn is cut and
combs out residue from cutting
plus matted grass lying on the
surface. The aerator roller should
be turned off when cutting long
grass.
Use in Autumn
To prepare the lawn perfectly for
the coming winter, we recom-
mend cutting the lawn down
to approx. 30 mm. When the
aerator roller is switched on it
removes moss and matted grass
plus wet or solid leaves.
Clean the mower housing each
time the mower is used.
Mode of operation of
aerator roller
The aerator springs penetrate
up to 7 mm into the sward,
depending on the nature of the
soil.
The aerator springs remove

rooting on the surface.

be started more easily.
Warning! Do not remove

cuttings from the mower
housing with the hand or feet,
but use suitable objects such as
brushes or a hand brush.
Emptying the grass collecting bag
Hold onto the grass collecting
bag at the carrying handle with
