W troubleshooting shotid begin with Flowchart 7-1 which can be used to veri~ the major printer
functions described in the table below
Table 7-1. Major Printer Functions
Power Up. The powering up of the printer to the ready state following Self TesL
and the distribution of DC voltages.
Paper Movement. The printer's ability to successfully move media from the input tray to
either the Face-Up or Face-Down (Top) Output Tray.
Image Formation, The printer's ability to successfully generate a print image and transfer
this image to various print media.
