: Lay your machine on its back with
the gearhead facing upward.
Cutting edges of (1), (3) and (4)
may point in either direction.
Cutting edges of (2), (5) and (6)
must point clockwise.
Direction of rotation is marked by
arrow on inside of cutting head
deflector or limit stop.
FS 110
: Place the cutting tool (7) on the
thrust plate (8).
Collar (see arrow) must locate in
cutting tool's mounting hole.
:
Slip thrust washer (9) and rider
plate (10) over the output shaft (11).
: Block the output shaft and
:
Screw the mounting nut (12) with
the combination wrench (13) on to
the output shaft counterclockwise
and tighten down firmly.

If the mounting nut is too loose,

fit a new one.
Removing cutting tool
:
Block the output shaft.
:
Unscrew the nut clockwise.
:
Removing the cutting tool – do not
remove the thrust plate (8).

4-MIX Engine

The STIHL 4-MIX engine features
gasoil lubrication and must be run on a
fuel mixture of gasoline and engine oil.
It operates otherwise on the 4-stroke
principle.
