Devices for safe guiding:
³
The large base plate guarantees safe rest of the
machine on the workpiece. Two ergonomically
arranged handles are provided for guiding during
the sawing operation. Thanks to the parallel guide
fence, which can be used on both sides of the
cutting plane, it is possible to guide the machine
both along the edge of a workpiece and along a
guide rail placed on the workpiece.
The scoring edges which are well visible from
both sides of the machine also contribute to safe
guiding.
Protection against kickback of the workpiece:
³
In order to prevent a possible kickback of the
workpiece in the event of tilting and to assist in
guiding the machine during the advance motion,
the portable circular saw is provided with a riv-
ing knife / splitter. As regards its thickness, this
riving knife / splitter is adapted to the saw blade
supplied and can be positioned near the saw
blade within the limits specified in the technical
data.
Switching equipment and brake:
³
The lock-off button provided in the handle pre-
vents unintentional switching on. The machine
can only be operated as long as the switch trig-
ger, which is also to be found in the handle, is
pressed down. As soon as this switch trigger is
released, the machine is automatically discon-
nected and the built-in mechanical brake is acti-
vated. Thus the deceleration time of the saw
blade is reduced to approx. 5 seconds.
Ergonomics:
³
Essential ergonomic principles taken into con-
sideration for the design of the machine:
low weight compared to the high stability
±
and high power,
handle located in the machine's center of
±
gravity,
only one service tool for all functions
±
arranged in a holding device on the
machine.
Chip removal:
³
Chips are routed via a built-in chip duct to the
attachable extractor connection. This means the
machine can be connected to an external
extractor unit, such as a mobile dust extractor.
In case of operation without dust extraction, the
streamlined upper saw guard ensures that the
chips are blown out without hitting the operator.
Electric safety:
³
The electric equipment of the machine corres-
ponds to the European standard EN 60745-1
and is interference-proof against electromag-
netic fields.
The built-in universal motor is radio and TV
interference suppressed.
The safety devices described in this
manual are essential prerequisites
of safe machine operation. They
must not be removed or put out of
action.
