• Allen key 5 (Fig. 1) provided in the motor cover
has to be inserted into the flange screw 18
(Fig. 3) and turned until complete engagement of
the locking bolt. To slacken off the flange screw,
turn the Allen key counterclockwise, then
remove the screw and front flange disk 12. Open
the retractable saw guard 13 by pulling forwards
and remove the saw blade by lifting it to the front
and pulling out to the bottom.
• Before fitting the new saw blade, inspect the two
clamping flanges for foreign particles clinging to
them and clean. When inserting the saw blade,
note the correct direction of rotation: the teeth
must point in the same direction as the arrow on
the upper saw guard. Fit the clamping flange and
flange screw and tighten by turning clockwise.
The locking bolt can be used as an aid as when
removing the blade.
Do not manipulate the locking bolt 8
(Fig. 2) while the machine is running!
The machine may be damaged.

Riving knife

Before adjusting the riving knife /
splitter always pull out the mains
plug!
Riving knife / splitter 15 (Fig. 3) prevents the saw
kerf from closing behind the saw blade when making
rip cuts. It must therefore be properly adjusted and
used for all sawing work. The correct clearance to
the saw blade is shown in.
• To adjust the riving knife / splitter, release the two
socket head cap screws 16 (Fig. 3) with the Allen
key 5 (Fig. 1) and slide the riving knife / splitter as
may be necessary in its slot. Retighten the two
socket head cap screws.

Operation

4.1

Initial operation

Before using the machine for the first time, it is
imperative to observe the following notes:
Personnel entrusted to work with the machine
³
must have read the operating instructions. Main
importance has to be attached to the chapter
„Safety instructions".
Make sure that the safety equipment is attached
³
and functions. This applies in particular to the
riving knife and slight movability of the retracta-
ble saw guard.
Make sure that the saw blade is fixed correctly.
³
4.2

Switching on and off

Before switching on, make sure that
the saw blade is freely movable and
the retractable saw guard is closed.
Lead the mains cable away from the
machine to the rear.
Hold the machine securely by the
two handles.
Do not switch on the machine if the
saw blade is touching the work-
piece.
• Switching on: First, release the starting lock-off
by pressing lock-off button 1 (Fig. 1). Then press
the switch lever 2 while holding down the lock-off
button. As the switch trigger does not have a lock-
ing feature, the machine only runs while this
switch is activated.
• Switching off: To switch off the machine, release
the switch trigger. The deceleration time of the saw
blade is limited to approx. 5 seconds by means of
the built-in automatic brake. The starting lock-off
button is re-activated, preventing the portable cir-
cular saw from being switched on accidentally.
Switch-on operations generate transient voltage
drops. In the case of unfavourable mains conditions,
other devices may be impaired. With mains imped-
ance values less than 0.33 ohm, failures are not
probable to occur.
4.3
Adjusting cutting depth
The cutting depth may be adjusted con-
tinuously from 0 to 65 mm (0 to 2 9/16
in.).
For this purpose proceed as follows:
• Firstly, release the locking lever 11 (Fig. 2).
• The cutting depth can be adjusted now by means
of plunge lever 6.
• It can be read on scale 7. The bevelled edge of
the leverserving is serving as indicator.
The cutting depth should always be approx. 2 to
5 mm (1/16 to 3/16 in.) more than the workpiece
thickness.
