Information!
The air humidifier can be installed
on either side of the belt unit. The
breathing protection hood con-
nection valve and hose must then
always be rearward facing.
Removing the PROTECT safety
cap
The PROTECT cap [17-2] is in-
stalled at the factory on the left
adapter plate [17-4] of the belt unit.
When using the air humidifier, both
belt unit adapter plates are used.
The PROTECT safety cap must be
removed and stored in a safe place.
■ Press release lever
■ Pull Protect cap upward.

Danger due to low tempera-
tures
Frost can damage the air humidi-
fier and make breathing difficult.
→ After initial use with distilled
water, use and store the air
humidifier only at temperatures
above +39.2°F (+4°C).

Modifications made to the safety
valve can change the pressure
in the breathing protection appa-
ratus.
→ Do not modify the safety
valve. The safety valve responds
starting at a pressure of 29 psi (2
bar).

Danger due to high water
temperatures
Use of very warm or hot water
can increase the temperature of
the breathing air. If the water tem-
perature is too high, it can cause
scalding or damage the device.
→ The water temperature must
not exceed +140°F (+60°C).
Notice!
Damage due to use of un-
suitable fluids
The use of undistilled water can
damage the air humidifier.
→ Use only distilled water.
