Never breathe in the gases and vapors produced by the battery – ensure there is
a sufficient supply of fresh air.
Do not place any tools or electrically conductive metals on the battery, in order
to prevent short circuits.
Never allow battery acid to come into contact with your eyes, skin, or clothing.
Wear eye protection and appropriate protective clothing. Rinse away any
splashed acid immediately and thoroughly with clean water, and consult a physi-
cian if necessary.

The substances inside the battery to be charged can have a dangerous impact on
the battery
the environment and the health of humans and animals.
If the battery is damaged, observe the following points:

There is a risk of fire if the battery overheats. Protect the battery from heat.
(e.g., from the permanent effects of heat and fire)
Toxic vapors which can irritate the airways may escape from the battery if it is
damaged or used improperly.

If the battery is defective, liquid may leak out.

Operation or storage in potentially explosive atmospheres is prohibited.
Special regulations apply in rooms subject to fire and explosion hazards
- Observe the relevant national and international regulations.
To comply with European Directive 2006/66/EC on batteries and its implementa-
tion in national law, used batteries must be collected separately and returned to
an approved recycling facility. Any battery that you no longer require must be re-
turned to your distributor or else taken to the approved collection or recycling
facilities in your area. Ignoring this European directive may have potentially ad-
verse effects on the environment and your health.
As soon as it can be assumed that the battery has been mechanically damaged,
the battery must be disposed of at the nearest recycling collection point in ac-
cordance with national laws and guidelines.
In case of any uncertainties or questions regarding disposal, contact the author-
ized service body.

Ensure that escaping liquids cannot penetrate into the soil or groundwater
If contamination has already occurred, take corrective steps as prescribed by
applicable national regulations

Consult a physician if irritation continues
Avoid contact with the liquid
Hand over the battery to the authorized service body for repair
Clean and inspect parts that have come into contact with the liquid
