MEAN temperature for continuous use
Pedestrians
Keep the pedestrian walkway and the forklift
driveway separated with the use of a fence or
other suitable barrier. When using a guiding
person to keep pedestrian and forklift
separated, the operator must follow the
instruction of the guiding person at that time.
Large well-placed intersection mirrors, work
rules requiring horn use at all intersections, and
pedestrians trained to be alert to mobile
equipment, will also be effective in lowering the
chances of pedestrian injuries.
Explosion/Fire
Make a fire extinguisher always available in the
work area and familiarize yourself and the
operators with how to use it. Confirm the
location and usage of the fire extinguisher and
other related equipment.

3.4 Maintenance
The safe operation of forklift trucks require
among other things, planned maintenance. The
Periodic Maintenance Table and Periodic
Replacement Table are provided in the
Operator Manual for each forklift model that you
operate.
Planned maintenance includes:
• Inspection
• Cleaning
• Lubrication
• Service
Be sure to observe the following when
performing the planned maintenance:
• Only qualified and authorized personnel can
provide maintenance and inspection of the
forklift trucks.
• Perform maintenance in a safe environ-
ment. Be on the alert for potential fire haz-
ards, when fixing fuel and ignition systems.
Disconnect the battery before working on
the electrical system. Make a first aid kit
and a fire extinguisher available in the work
area.
Service Centre can provide planned
maintenance service, daily operator checklist
and genuine replacement parts to help you
comply with forklift maintenance standards. The
Service Centre has qualified staffs who are fully
trained in the equipment you use.
Perform all scheduled maintenance, lubrication
and inspections at the suggested intervals. Time
intervals are provided in the Operator Manual.
When operating under severe or extreme
conditions, perform the services more often.
