Start gradually and slowly. Avoid sudden starts
particularly when loaded or when stacking.
In the unloaded condition of forklifts fitted with
transmission gears, 2nd gear may be used for
takeoff and travel, but in the loaded condition,
1 st gear should always be used for takeoff.
After starting the engine, allow it to warm up
fully before starting the operation. (IC truck)
5.3.2 Traveling
Always travel with the forks as low as possible
and tilt the forks fully backward. Always ensure
forks are not touching the ground when
operating as this may cause the forks to wear.
Obey all workplace traffic rules, speed limits and
warning signs.
Keep your forklift truck under control at all times.
Always travel at a speed that allows you to stop
safely.
Always keep a safe distance from other trucks
to allow sufficient space for safe stopping under
any condition.

SAFE OPERATION
Look in the direction of travel. Keep a clear
view. If the load blocks your vision in the
forward direction, you must travel in reverse.

If you can't see point A from your normal seated
position, you must travel in reverse.

.6.CAUTION
Never put your hand and feet outside the truck,
or it may lead to serious injuries. Always keep
arms and legs inside the truck. Always keep any
body parts inside the truck. Watch for long ob-
jects that could come into the compartment as
you travel. Never put hands or feet through the
upright.
