9.1 Attachments
Note on attachments
Attachments equipped on the forklift must be
clearly marked and identified on the nameplate.
The nameplate must also include the adjusted
rated capacity.
Properly identify the forklift truck equipped with
attachments provided by other manufacturers. If
your truck is equipped with any attachments that
are not factory installed, request the Service
Centre to issue the nameplate. The nameplates
must include the information, such as the
attachment code and the adjusted rated
capacity.
All nameplates should be in place and readily
visible. • Follow the instruction of the attachment
manufacturer.
In Europe, the attachments equipped on the
forklift must be CE marked. Hazards arising
when attachments are used on the forklift When
attachments are installed on the forklift, the
rated capacity is less than that permitted under
normal usage. Check with the Service Centre
for the rated capacity when attachments are
used. For example, when the forklift is equipped
with the side shift attachment, ensure that the
load is centered with respect to the forklift
during lifting and moving. Unbalanced loading
can result in the forklift tipping over. Whether or
not the forklift is equipped with an attachment,
loads should never be left in a raised position.
This applies particularly to forklifts equipped
with the clamp attachment; leaving a load
clamped can cause it to slip out of the clamp
and fall.
Assembling the forklift and mounting
attachments
Ask the Service Centre to assemble a forklift
that has been delivered disassembled.
When an attachment has been replaced,
operate it without a load and visually inspect for
oil leaks or other abnormalities before using it
for actual work.
In case of interchangeable attachments, flush
the hydraulic system after dismounting the
attachment.
9.2 Options
The trucks can be equipped with different
options. Options may supplement its functions.
They may be appropriate if the operating
environment contains special conditions. Please
note that since the use of the options could
create potential hazards that would not exist in
their absence, they should be selected only
after careful consideration.
For complete information, contact the Service
Centre.
