4.1 Safety precautions
The instructions with following safety symbol are
important. Make sure that you read and follow
them carefully. Failure to do so may lead to an
accident, injury or death. The symbols used in
the warning labels and manuals are as follows:
&DANGER
Indicates a hazardous situation that, if
not avoided will result in death or seri-
ous injury.
&WARNING
Indicates a hazardous situation that, if
not avoided, could result in death or
serious injury.
&CAUTION
Indicates a hazardous situation that, if
not avoided, could result in minor or
moderate injury, or property damage.
NOTICE
Indicates information to be considered
important, to do your job right and
easier, and to keep your truck running
well.
It is also your responsibility to be aware of these
warnings and instructions and follow local safety
regulations. If the instructions in this manual in
any way should differ from these regulations,
the local regulations should be followed.
4.2 Intended use
The forklift truck is powered industrial
equipment designed to be used for handling
materials. A forklift can be hazardous, and does
not operate like an automobile. It has small
tires, no springs, and is very heavy. It can pick
up a heavy weight that raises its center of
gravity and it steers from the rear very sharply.
For use in a special work environment, the truck
should be specially adapted.
4.3 Unauthorized use
None of the following are permitted to operate a
forklift:
• Untrained or unauthorized operators
• Careless operators
The truck may never be used in the following
conditions or purposes, unless it is specially
designed for them:
• In an environment with dust and gas, which
may cause a fire or explosion
• In corrosive environments
• To tow other trucks
• To lift a load using a rope on the forks
• To transport or lift passengers
• As an earth for welders or other electrical
equipment
• In a workplace with an uneven floor or a
floor with insufficient load capacity
• When the truck has malfunctioned or is not
operating properly
• When the truck has been repaired, modified
or adjusted without an approval from manu-
facturer
