TREATMENT

General information

Light Curing Units transfer energy in form of light
to the tooth and to the composite. Therefore, heat
is always applied to the tooth and composite
during the curing process. The amount of heat
transferred to the tooth is proportional to the curing
process duration and curing light intensity.
Do not hold the Light Curing Unit against
one given tooth for more than 40 uninterrupted
seconds.
The purpose of the Light Curing Unit is to
cure layers thinner than 2 mm. Please refer to
recommendations from the composite manufac-
turer.
The light intensity decreases as the distance
between the tip of the Light Curing Unit and the
composite increases. Position the tip of the light
guide as close as possible to the composite
without direct contact.
For children or patients having heat
sensitivity, reduce the exposition time. Ask your
patient to express any heat sensitivity during the
treatment.
Avoid directing the light towards the eyes,
soft tissues or unprotected skin.

Informations générales
Les lampes à photo-polymériser transfèrent au
composite et à la dent de l'énergie sous forme
lumineuse. Par conséquent, de la chaleur est
toujours émise sur la dent et sur le composite au
cours du traitement. La quantité de chaleur émise
est proportionnelle à la durée du traitement de
photo-polymérisation et à l'intensité lumineuse.
Ne jamais irradier une seule et même dent
plus de 40 secondes en continu.
La lampe à polymériser est prévue pour
traiter des couches inférieures à 2 mm d'épaisseur.
Veuillez vous référer aux recommandations du
fabricant de composite.
L'intensité lumineuse décroît lorsque la
distance entre l'extrémité de la lampe à polymériser
et du composite augmente. Positionner l'extrémité
du guide lumière aussi près que possible du
composite, sans toutefois le toucher.
Pour les enfants ou les patients sensibles
à la chaleur, réduisez le temps d'exposition.
Demandez à votre patient qu'il manifeste toute
sensibilité à la chaleur au cours du traitement.
Evitez de diriger la lumière vers les yeux,
les tissus mous ou la peau non protégée.

Eine Polymerisationslampe transferiert Energie
in Form von Licht zum Dentalmaterial und zum
Zahn. Aus diesem Grund wird während des
Härtungsprozesses dem Zahn immer Temperatur
zugeführt. Die zum Zahn transferierte Temperatur
verhält sich proportional zur Dauer des Härtens
und der Lichtintensität.
Der Lichtleiter der Polymerisationslampe
sollte nicht länger als 40 Sekunden auf eine Stelle
am Zahn gehalten werden.
Das Ziel der Polymerisationslampe
ist Schichten von nicht mehr als 2 mm Tiefe
auszuhärten. Bitte beachten Sie die Hinweise
des Herstellers des Materials.
Die Lichtintensität verringert sich, wenn
die Distanz zwischen Komposit und der Spitze
des Lichtleiters erhöht wird. Es wird geraten, die
Spitze des Lichtleiters so nahe wie möglich an
das Komposit zu halten ohne es zu berühren.
F ü r K i n d e r o d e r Pa t i e n t e n m i t
einer Hitzsensibilität verwenden Sie
die Polymerisationslampe in kürzeren
Belichtungsintervallen mit Pausen von mehreren
Sekunden. Fragen Sie Ihren Patienten nach
Schmerzempfindung während der Behandlung.
Vermeiden Sie es, das Licht auf die Augen,
Weichgewebe oder auf die ungeschützte Haut zu
richten.
