2.3. COMMAND AND CONTROL DEVICES

Lever to unblock legs (A e C)
These controls (fig. 3) make it possible to fold the legs of the stretcher while loading or unloading the ambulance, and to lower the
stretcher; their position enables the operator to use them while his hands are holding the stretcher securely. To release the stretcher
the lever should be rotated upwards; the levers are in green (C) and red (A), the green lever controls the release of the front legs, and
the red lever controls the release of the rear legs.
Security lever (B)
This control (fig. 3) prevents the accidental release of the legs and should be used only during the loading of the stretcher or when
lowering it; release is effected by operating the security lever of the stretcher and simultaneously the green release lever of the front
legs; then by continuing to operate the green lever, and also operating the red release lever for the rear legs.
If by chance the release lever for the front legs is released before operating the lever for the rear legs, the security lever must be
operated again.
Lever regulating the footrest (H)
This mechanism consists of a lever with a red handle (fig. 3), which operates a gas spring positioned laterally at the edge of the footrest
on the right side. This release makes it possible to adjust the angle of inclination from the horizontal (standard) to an angle of inclination
of approximately circa 20° ("Trendelenburg"), with infinite adjustment. It is operated by pulling the lever towards the operator, and
simply releasing it stops the movement of the footrest.
