Safety symbols on the battery
Follow the instructions
Read the instructions and store them clearly in the vicinity of the battery! Work
may only be carried out on batteries following training by specialist personnel!
Risk of explosion and fire
Avoid short circuits!
No smoking!
No open flames, embers or sparks are permitted in the vicinity of the battery!
Risk of electric shock
Metal parts of the battery cells are always under voltage!
Do not place any objects or tools on the battery!
Risk of corrosion from electrolyte
The electrolyte is extremely corrosive! In normal operation the electrolyte is
protected against contact. In the event that the housing is damaged, the
electrolyte compound that is released is corrosive in its liquid form.
Wear protective goggles and protective clothing when working on batteries!
Observe the regulations for the prevention of industrial accidents and also
DIN EN 50272-2, VDE 0105-1!
In the event that acid is splashed into the eyes or on the skin, rinse and wash
the acid away with plenty of clean water. Consult a doctor immediately.
Wash clothing thoroughly with water!
Risk of injury from falling parts
Cells/units are very heavy! Make sure that items are positioned securely!
Only use suitable means of transport!
Cell/unit containers are susceptible to mechanical damage.
Always handle them carefully!
Recycling the battery
Used lead-acid batteries should be recycled as waste that requires special supervision.
Batteries marked with the recycling symbol and the crossed out garbage can symbol must
not be disposed of with domestic waste. The form of disposal and recycling must be
agreed with the manufacturer.
Please observe the regional regulations governing disposal.
