Change the Battery:
1. Power down the device. Slide the battery
compartment tab on the back of the device to the
end of the slot and hold it there while you lift out
the battery.
2. Insert the spare battery and snap it into place.
3. Power up the device.
Cleaning Instructions:
Echo-Screen III devices and their components should be
cleaned regularly, as follows:

Daily perform a light cleaning of the battery
•
As needed to remove built up dirt, thoroughly clean
the battery
IMPORTANT! The Echo-Screen III device battery should
not be exposed to cleaning solutions or liquids other
than the approved cleaners and cleaning protocols.
Approved cleaners are isopropyl alcohol and mild soapy
water solution.
Light Cleaning of the Echo-Screen III Battery:
1. Remove the battery from the battery compartment.
2. Use a prepackaged alcohol wipe or a lint-free cloth
dampened (not wet) with 70% isopropyl alcohol
to wipe down all surfaces of the screening device,
including the plastic battery enclosure. Use a swab
to reach small areas.
3. Wipe down the battery enclosure and the battery
contacts.
4. Allow the battery to dry thoroughly.
5. Reinstall the battery.
For thorough cleaning of the battery, turn off the device,
unplug all cables, and remove the battery. Use a damp
(not wet) lint-free cloth moistened with mild detergent,
such as liquid dishwashing detergent, and water diluted
to the detergent manufacturer's recommendation
to remove built up dirt and grease from the battery
housing's plastic surfaces. You can use a swab to reach
small areas.

environment (at least 4.6 m (15 ft.) from the patient).
• Keep out of the reach of children.

environments. Incorrect handling can overcharge or
destroy the battery.
• Use only the Natus-supplied docking station or the
Natus-supplied power supply connected directly to
the device to charge the battery. Battery chargers
not approved by Natus may not meet electrical and
safety standards. Use of other chargers may cause
damage to the device and Natus is not liable for
damages cause by their use.
• Only charge the battery in the Natus Echo-Screen III
screener or in the Natus Echo-Screen III docking
station. Failure to heed the warning may result in
fire, explosion, leakage, overheating, or damage to
the battery.
• Do not charge or install the battery when the
screener or docking station are wet with alcohol.

battery.
• Do not charge the battery near a source of heat or
under direct sunlight. Failure to heed the warning
may result tin fire, explosion, leakage, overheating
or damage to the battery.
• Do not place the battery in contact with metal
objects.
• Do not connect the battery directly to a power
outlet. Failure to heed the warning may result in
fire, explosion, leakage, overheating, or damage to
the battery.
• Do no disassemble or modify the battery. Failure
to heed the warning may result in fire, explosion,
leakage, overheating, or damage to the battery.
• Avoid dropping or puncturing the battery or
subjecting it to a sharp force. Failure to heed the
warning may result in fire, explosion, leakage,
overheating, or damage to the battery.
• Never submerge the battery in water or other liquid.
Failure to heed the warning may result in fire,
explosion, leakage, overheating, or damage to the
battery.
• Do not use the battery if you notice discolorations,
deformities, warm to hot temperature or odors
coming from the battery. Failure to heed the warning
may result in fire, explosion, leakage, overheating,
or damage to the battery.
• Do not use this battery with any other equipment.
This battery is only to be used with the Natus
Echo-Screen III screener and docking station.
Failure to heed the warning may result in fire,
explosion, leakage, overheating, or damage to the
battery.
• Take care to keep excess alcohol or soapy water
from running past the contacts into the interior of the
device, battery, or docking station. Do not immerse
the device in water or other cleaning solutions.
Failure to follow this instruction can damage the
device or docking station, or result in electrical
shorting of the battery, fire, or electrical shock.
