1.0 INTRODUCTION
This booklet describes the regulations for use and maintenance for
seeding machine. This booklet is an integrating part of the product,
and must be kept in a safe place for consultation during the whole
life span of the machine.
ATTENTION
The customer should instruct personnel on accident risks, on the
operator safety devices provided, on noise emission risks and
on general accident prevention regulations provided for by the
international directives and by the law in the country in which the
machines are used.
In any case, the machine should be used exclusively by skilled
operators who will be held to follow scrupulously the technical and
accident-prevention instructions in this manual.
It is the user's responsibility to check that the machine is opera-
ted only in optimum conditions of safety for people, animals and
property.
1.1 CONFORMITY DECLARATION
The product complies with the following European Standards:
- 98/37 CE Machine Directive that abrogates and includes Direc-
tives 89/392 EEC, 91/368 EEC, 94/44 EEC and 93/68 EEC.
- 89/336 EEC (Concerning the bringing together of member
countries' regulations on electrical material destined for use within
certain voltage limits).
For machine conformity the following standards have been used:
- EN 292-1:1992 (Safety of machinery) Basic concepts, general
design principles. Terminology and basic methodology.
- EN 292-1 A/1:1992
- EN 292-2:1992 (Safety of machinery) Basic concepts, general
design principles. Technical specifi cations and principles.
- EN 294:1993 (Safety of machinery) Safety distances to prevent
danger zones being reached by the upper limbs.
- EN 982:1997 (Safety of machinery) Safety requirements regar-
ding systems, and their components, for hydraulic and pneumatic
drives.
- EN 1553:1999 (Agricultural machines) Self-propelled agricultural
machines, mounted, semi-mounted and towed - Common safety
requirements.

1.2 DESCRIPTION OF THE SEEDER
The VITIGREEN model is an integrated planter for broadcasting
lucerne, clover, rape and other types of non-thread-like small
seed, and is ideal for turfi ng vineyards and orchards. This farm
implement is designed to work in combination with the MASCHIO
DL-Vineyard harrow.
The seeds are distributed continuously by toothed rollers, one
for each delivery tube, which are driven by the rear roller on the
rotating harrow.
The seeder is suitable only for the uses indicated. Any other
use different from that described in these instructions could
cause damage to the machine and represent a serious hazard
for the user.
Regular operation depends on the correct use and adequate main-
tenance of the equipment. It is advisable therefore to observe scru-
pulously what is described in order to prevent any inconveniences
that could prejudicate proper operation and duration.
It is just as important to keep to what is described in this booklet
since the Manufacturer declines all responsibility due to ne-
gligence and non-observance of these rules.
At any rate the Manufacturer is available to assure immediate and
accurate technical assistance and all that may be necessary for the
improved operation and better performance of the equipment.

