Safety advice
Carefully read the operating instructions before using the safety traverse.

The check list must be filled in prior to first use and has then to be updated regularly
The operating instructions must always be kept ready to hand near the safety traverse.
The safety traverse must be used only by healthily fit persons instructed in its safe use and having the knowledge required.
There must be a plan to take the necessary measures in case of a fall or other accidents to rescue injured persons as quickly as possible.
The safety traverse must not be used as a stop point by more than two persons simultaneously. In that case the inner width
of the doorway shall not exceed 900 mm. If only one person is using it, the inner width of the doorway is restricted to a
maximum of 1100 mm.
The safety traverse may not be used to lift loads.
The safety traverse may only be used in doorways with bearing walls on both sides (min. 13 kN).
The safety traverse may only be used together with a restraint system protecting against falling off (EN 363) or with a fastening and anchoring
system of a personal safety device (EN 358). The restraint system must be provided with a fall damping unit, limiting the maximum force to not
more than 6 kN, e.g. a fall absorber under EN 355, and with a catching belt under EN 361.
The operating instructions of the products used together with a restraint system must always be followed. This applies particularly to the
headroom necessary below the user (clearance (a) see page 33, fig. 1), to the safe stress, e. g. of the connecting means, in case of sharp
edges, or to the maximum operating length in a restraint system.
Attention! Wrong use may be dangerous!
The safety traverse should be at the personal disposal of each user. It has to be checked for damages prior to every use.
In any case of doubt about the secure condition of the safety traverse it must immediately be withdrawn from service. Furthermore it has to
be checked for its perfect condition by an expert when required, at least once a year.
The safety traverse should be provided with an information when the next inspection has to be made, e.g. by putting on a usual badge.
Safety traverses that have been modified, damaged or strained by a sudden fall may only be reused after a thorough check and repair
by the manufacturer.
The safety traverse has to be stored in dry rooms. Coarse dirt has to be removed regularly by means of suds. Absolutely avoid any contact with
chemical agents, oil, solvents and other corrosive substances. Turnable and adjustable parts must constantly be kept running well.
Make sure that the product identification marking is legible.
Damages on transport should be avoided by using suitable receptacles.
In case of resale in a foreign country it will be absolutely necessary to furnish also the safety advice in the corresponding language.
