Klinische Relevanz
Thyroxin (T4), dass hauptsächlich von der
Schilddrüse gebildete Hormon, zirkuliert
im Blut, im wesentlichen gebunden an
Trägerproteine. Hauptbindeprotein für das
T4 ist das Thyroxin-bindende-Globulin
(TBG). Konzentrationsänderungen der
Bindeproteine führen zu einer
Veränderung in der Gesamt-T4-
Konzentration, während die Konzentration
des freien Thyroxins weitgehend
unverändert ist. Der TBG-Spiegel
verändert sich unter verschiedenen
physiologischen Zuständen z. B. in der
Schwangerschaft, bei Verwendung von
oralen Kontrazeptiva und unter Östrogen-

der Gesamt-T4-Spiegel erhöht, während
