System maintenance
Carefully read the "Maintenance" section in General Warnings code 3301151, particularly the following instructions.
♦
Performing the work incorrectly can cause severe personal injury and material damage.
♦
An electric shock can cause death.
♦
A poor connection to the earth conductor can cause severe personal injury and material damage. Bear in
mind that the machine outer casing screws perform the task of earthing parts to which the machine operator
is exposed. Therefore, do not use any other types of screw.
♦
Whatever the qualifications of the operator, it is obligatory to disconnect the power source from the power
supply during all maintenance operations
♦
After opening the device, use an appropriate measuring instrument to ensure that electrically charged
components are discharged.
♦
CEBORA cannot be held liable for any damage to things and people if non-original parts are used.
Proper maintenance of the system ensures optimal performance and lengthens the life of all its components, including
consumables. It is therefore advisable to carry out the operations listed in the following table.
Period
Maintenance operations
Every six
Check the supply gas pressure is correct
months
Check the fans of the power source, cooling unit and gas console are working properly
Weekly
Check coolant level
Clean the torch threads and check for signs of corrosion or electrical discharge
Check the gas, water and electrical connections for cracks, abrasions or leaks
Monthly
Run the TEST programme via the gas console.
Replace the coolant present in the system
Clean the cooling unit external and reservoir filters;
Every six
months
Clean the gas console filter
Replace the torch O-rings, ordering kit item no 1400
If a component is found to be excessively worn or operating irregularly following inspection, contact the CEBORA
Assistance Service.
Request a call-out by qualified staff for maintenance of internal parts of the various components. In particular, we advi-
se carrying out the following operations regularly.
For all components:
♦
Clean the interior using compressed air (clean, dry and oil-free) to remove dust build-up. If possible, use a
suction device;
♦
Check that the electrical connections are properly tightened without any sign of overheating.
For individual components in the following table:
Component
Maintenance operations
Power source Clean the IGBT module radiators with compressed air, directing the air jet against the radiators.
Clean the radiator with compressed air, directing the air jet against the radiator.
Cooling unit
Check the internal hydraulic circuit for cracks or leaks.
Gas console
Check the internal air circuit for cracks or leaks.
Valve console Check the internal air circuit for leaks.
Check the spark gap for excessive blackening and correct pin spacing;
Ignition unit
Check the internal hydraulic circuit for cracks or leaks.
Periodically, also check that the system is earthed. In particular, check that each cable is securely tightened between
its screw and nut, following the diagram in fig. 5.2.
