Start-up
3. Unscrew the valve cap (12/6), and push a tyre
pressure gauge (manometer) onto the open
valve.
4. Read off the tyre pressure, and compare it
with the preset values: Front tyres 1.5 bar,
rear tyres 1.0 bar.
5. If the tyre pressure is too low: Pump up
the tyre using a commercially available foot
pump.
Adjusting the fill level indicator of the grass
sack and attaching the grass sack
Adjusting the fill level indicator of the grass
sack
The fill level indicator (17/1) measures how full the
grass sack is. When the fill level indicator indica-
tes that the grass sack is full, an acoustic signal
is given. The sensitivity of the fill level indicator is
infinitely adjustable by pushing the rod (17/1) in
or out.
Adjust the fill level indicator as follows:
1. If you wish to mow dry grass: Pull the rod out.
When the rod is pulled out furthest, the sensor
reacts most sensitively.
2. If you wish to mow wet grass: Push the rod in.
When the rod is pushed in furthest, the sensor
reacts least sensitively.
Attaching the grass sack
1. Attach the upper part of the frame of the grass
sack (06/1) respectively in the left and right
slots of the holder (06/2).
2. For this, exactly align the two arrows (06/3)
on the engine cover and the grass sack with
each other, so that the sack hangs straight.
Checking safety devices
Each time before you start the ride-on mower,
check the safety devices.
WARNING!
Danger of personal injuries when che-
cking the safety devices!
If the safety devices do not work when
they are checked, people may be se-
verely injured.
Check the safety devices only when you
are sitting on the driver's seat and no
other people or animals are close to the
ride-on mower.
Carry out all checks on level ground, so that the
ride-on mower cannot roll away inadvertently.
Checking the parking brake contact switch
The parking brake contact switch ensures that
the engine can be started only when the parking
brake is applied.
Precondition: The engine is off.
1. Sit on the operator's seat.
2. Release the parking brake (08/1, position B).
3. Attempt to start the engine (ignition key in po-
sition II).
ADVICE
The engine must not start.
Checking the mower mechanism contact
switch
The mower mechanism contact switch ensures
that the engine cannot be started if the mower me-
chanism is activated.
Precondition: The engine is off.
1. Sit on the operator's seat.
2. Apply the parking brake (08/1, position A).
3. Engage the mower mechanism by pushing in
button (07/5) on the dashboard.
4. Attempt to start the engine (ignition key in po-
sition II).
ADVICE
The engine must not start.
Checking the seat contact switch
The seat contact switch ensures that the engine
switches off as soon as there is no-one on the
operator's seat when the mower mechanism is
switched on.
1. Sit on the operator's seat.
2. Apply the parking brake (08/1, position A).
3. Start the engine, and let it run at maximum
rpm.
4. Engage the mower mechanism by pushing in
button (07/5) on the dashboard.
5. Take your weight off the seat by standing up
(do not get off!).
ADVICE
The engine must switch off.
Checking the grass catcher contact switch
The grass catcher contact switch ensures that the
engine is switched off as soon as the grass cat-
cher is no longer hooked in correctly when the mo-
wer mechanism is switched on.
