Driving and mowing using the ride-on mower
Starting the engine and driving off
1. Sit on the operator's seat.
2. Actuate the controller (07/1) for the engine
speed.
a) If the engine is cold: Push the controller
to the top as far as it will go, to the Choke
symbol.
b) If the engine is warm: Push the controller
to a mid-position between the Hare (fast)
and the tortoise (slow).
3. Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock
(07/3).
4. Turn the ignition key as far as the start posi-
tion to run the starter (third position), and hold
it there until the engine is running.
ADVICE
To reduce strain on the starter bat-
tery, do not attempt to start for longer
than about 5 seconds. If the engine
does not start, turn the ignition key
back, and try again in a few seconds.
5. Then release the ignition key; it automatically
jumps to position I.
6. As soon as the engine has warmed up a
little: Push the controller (07/1) for the engine
speed to a position in which the engine runs
smoothly and which corresponds to the desi-
red rotational speed (mowing: Maximum re-
volutions, driving: medium revolutions).
7. When you want to mow: Engage the mower
mechanism by pushing in button (07/5) on the
dashboard.
8. Release the parking brake (08/1) and put your
foot on one of the two drive pedals (09/1,
09/2). The ride-on mower moves. If the mower
mechanism is engaged during reverse mo-
tion, the engine is switched off.
Stopping the ride-on mower and switching
off the engine
WARNING!
Danger if the engine is hot!
When stopping the ride-on mower, en-
sure that hot engine components such
as the silencer cannot set fire to objects
or materials located nearby.
1. Stop the ride-on mower by releasing the drive
pedal.
2. Disengage the mower mechanism by pushing
out button (07/5) on the dashboard.
3. Push the controller (07/1) for the engine
speed to the "tortoise" position (idling posi-
tion).
4. Apply the parking brake (08/1), in order to
hold the ride-on mower in position.
5. Turn the ignition key back to the STOP posi-
tion (07/3).
6. Remove the ignition key.
Driving with the ride-on mower
WARNING!
Danger in case of inappropriate
speed!
Drive slowly, especially at the beginning,
in order to familiarise yourself with the
driving and braking properties of the ride-
on mower.
Before each change of direction, adjust
the driving speed so as to retain control
of the ride-on mower at all times, and to
prevent it from tipping over.
Preparing to drive at temperatures below 10
°C.
1. Make sure the mower mechanism is not swit-
ched on. To do this, use button (07/5) on the
dashboard.
2. Start the engine and let it run for about 30
seconds to warm up and optimise the gear
oil viscosity. Following that, you can drive the
tractor. Do not switch on the mower mecha-
nism until the engine has been running for a
few minutes.
Driving with the foot hydrostat transmission
1. Apply the parking brake (08/1, position A).
2. Use the lever for the cutting height adjustment
(02/1) to set the mower mechanism to the ma-
ximum cutting height.
3. Start the engine.
4. Release the parking brake (08/1, position B).
5. Slowly press the foot pedal for the required
driving direction:
Forwards: Pedal (09/1)
Reverse: Pedal (09/2)
The further you press the pedal, the fas-
ter the tractor will drive in the selected di-
rection.
6. To stop, release the pedal.
