About the product
•
The module controls the actuators of a solar thermal
system or freshwater station.
•
The module records the temperatures that are required for
the functions.
•
The module is suitable for energy-saving pumps.
•
The module configures a solar thermal system together
with a control unit with BUS interface EMS 2/EMS plus.
•
More complex solar thermal systems can be created in
combination with an MS 200 solar module.
The combination options for the modules are shown in the
connection diagrams.
2.1
Important notices on use
WARNING
Risk of scalding!
▶ If DHW temperatures above 60 °C are set or if thermal
disinfection is activated, a mixer must be installed.
The module communicates via an EMS 2/EMS plus interface
with other EMS 2/EMS plus-enabled BUS nodes.
•
Connect the module only to user interfaces with an EMS 2/
EMS plus BUS interface (Energy Management System).
•
The scope of functions depends on the control unit
installed. Detailed information on control units can be
found in the catalogue, the technical guides and on the
website of the manufacturer.
•
The installation room must be appropriate for the IP rating
stated in the technical data of the module.
2.2
Solar thermal system
Additional solar thermal systems can be created by adding
functions to a solar thermal system. Examples of possible solar
thermal systems are shown in the connection diagrams.

•
Control of solar pump: switched on if the collector
temperature exceeds the temperature at the bottom of the
cylinder by the set switch-on temperature differential.
•
Regulation of the flow rate (Match-Flow) in the solar circuit
via a solar pump with PWM or 0-10 V interface
(adjustable).
•
Monitoring of the temperature in the collector array and in
the cylinder
2.3
Solar functions
The required solar thermal system can be assembled by adding
functions to the solar thermal system. Not all functions can be
combined with each other.
2.3.1 Ext. heat exchanger cyl. 1 (E)
External heat exchanger for solar system at cylinder 1
•
If the temperature at the heat exchanger exceeds the
temperature at the bottom of cylinder 1 by the set switch-
on temperature differential, the cylinder primary pump is
switched on. The frost protection function for the heat
exchanger is ensured.
2.3.2 Transfer system (I)
Transfer system with solar-heated pre-heating cylinder for DHW
heating
•
If the temperature of the pre-heating cylinder (cylinder 1 –
left) exceeds the temperature of the standby cylinder
(cylinder 3 – right) by the set switch-on temperature
differential, the transfer pump is switched on.
