4.1.2
Maintenance work
Always observe the on/off procedures in accordance
with the operating instructions and the information on
maintenance work.
Component parts and larger assemblies are
to be carefully attached to lifting gear on re-
placement and secured to avoid any hazards.
Only use suitable lifting gear in proper work-
ing order and loadbearing elements with an
adequate capacity. Never stand or work un-
der suspended loads.
¶
Fit and check the safety systems immediately follow-
ing completion of servicing and repair work.
¶
Always re-tighten bolted joints to the specified
torque after servicing and repair work.
4.2
High-pressure hoses
!
The high-pressure hose is a safety component which
must be replaced if damaged. High-pressure hose
repair is not permissible. In addition, the high-pres-
sure hose must be replaced every 3 years.
¶
Always check the high-pressure hose for external
damage prior to connection.
¶
The high-pressure hose must be replaced in the fol-
lowing situations:
$
Union nuts stiff.
$
Sealing cones deformed or damaged.
$
Cracks, brittle areas, blistering and leakage at the
hose jacket.
$
Leakage at the hose fittings.
¶
Never twist the high-pressure hose as torsion could
damage the hose inlays.
¶
Ensure large bending radii when connecting the
high-pressure hose, as small bending radii reduce
the cross-section. The smallest permissible bending
radius is r = 130 mm.
¶
The bending radius should not start at the fitting
holder but rather approx. 20 mm away from it.
¶
On connection, make sure the high-pressure hose
cannot come into contact with other hoses or ob-
jects during operation. Vibration may lead to abra-
sion at contact points.
¶
Always comply with the specified tightening torque
when connecting the high-pressure hose.
¶
Replace the high-pressure hose every 3 years. The
reference date is the date of manufacture on the
high-pressure hose.

Nozzle and injector tester
High hydraulic pressures occur when testing
and adjusting injection nozzles and injectors.
If damage occurs test oil may escape at high
pressure. The test oil jet emerging at high
pressure and temperature can cause injuries.
Do not reach into the test oil jet! The test
oil jet of a nozzle can penetrate deep into a
person's body tissue. The high pressure and
penetrating test oil can destroy the tissue
structure and possibly cause blood poisoning.
Test oil and test oil mist are flammable or ex-
plosive. For this reason, all sources of ignition
such as naked flame, cigarettes, electrical
sparks should be kept away from the nozzle
tester.
Always wear safety glasses.
¶
Check test pressure lines and screw unions regularly
for leaks and externally visible signs of damage!
Repair damage immediately! Splashing test oil can
cause injury and burns.
¶
The nozzle tester must be operated using test oil as
under ISO 4113. On no account should gasoline or
any other easily flammable medium be used.
¶
If used incorrectly or if the injection nozzles are
faulty (e. g. clogged nozzle needle) there is a danger
of injury.
