UNIT BUILT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE EEC ELECTRICAL DIRECTIVES IN FORCE (SEE DECLARATION OF CONFORMITY)
- MANDATORY: the electrical connections, unit and accessories must only be installed by specialised and qualified
personnel, following the rules and laws in force in the country of installation, including local ones.
- CAUTION, the unit must be electrically connected: The electrical system must comply with a project drawn up by a qualified
designer, documented and approved according to the laws and regulations in force. A few general (not exhaustive)
requirements are provided below as an example, refer to the electrical system project for further details.
- CAUTION: before carrying out any operation, ensure that the power supply is disconnected.
- Please note that electrical, mechanical modifications and tampering in general shall void the warranty.
- Comply with the safety regulations in force in the country of installation.
- Check that the characteristics of the electrical mains comply with the data on the unit's plate.
- Unit and accessory electrical power supply (motor, electric heating element, remote controls, adjustment, etc.): Check that the mains
supply voltage is within the established limits (see operating limits).
- Unit operation with voltages not included in the aforementioned limits shall void the warranty.
- Ensure that the electrical system is able to supply the current required to power appliances and units already in use in addition
to the operating current required by the unit.
CHECK THE EARTHING
- The electrical safety of the unit is attained only when the unit itself is correctly connected and efficiently earthed according
to the existing safety standards.
- When connecting, ensure that the earth wire is longer than the live wires, so that it will be the last wire to break if the
supply cable is stretched, thus ensuring a good earth continuity.
CONNECTION CABLES SPECIFICATIONS:
- Carry out all unit connections using cables of adeguate dimensions for the power used in accordance with the local laws in
force. Their dimensions must be of such dimensions to cause a phase voltage drop of less 3% of the nominal voltage.
- Use H05V-K or N07V-K insulated cables with 300/500 V, piped or ducted.
- All cables have to be piped or ducted until they are not placed inside the terminal board of the unit.
- The cables coming out of the pipe/duct have not to be subjected to stretch or twist. They must be protected from weathering.
Stranded cables shall only be used in connection with terminating sleeves. Make sure that all individual cables are correctly
GB
inserted in the sleeve.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS:
ASE REFER TO THE DIAGRAM ATTACHED TO THE UNIT,
WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE SYSTEM DESIGNER AND IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE ELECTRICAL DIAGRAM
ENCLOSED WITH THE UNIT AND ACCESSORIES
⎝ It is mandatory to contact a designer and to use certified components of the highest quality, with characteristics appropriate to the
system in which they are installed and to the characteristics of the components mounted on the unit/accessory to be powered.
⎝ Perform the electrical connection according to the wiring diagram of the unit.
⎝ The use of adapters, multiple sockets and/or extensions is not permitted for the main supply of the unit.
⎝ To protect the unit against short circuits, it must be connected to the power supply line by using an appropriate omnipolar diffe-
rential circuit breaker with a minimum contact opening of 3mm. This circuit breaker must guarantee adequate protection against
overload (thermal part) + protection against short-circuit (magnetic part) + protection against electric leakage, fault or electrocu-
tion to earth (differential part). To select the most suitable circuit breaker, see the electric absorption indicated on the unit's label.
⎝ NB: an omnipolar circuit breaker is defined as the one with the option of opening on both phase and neutral. This means that when
it is opened, both contacts are open.
⎝ The omnipolar circuit breaker or any plug (connection by means of cable and plug) must be positioned in accessible locations.
⎝ It is recommended to always install an additional fuse cut-out switch upstream, which, in addition to providing adequate additio-
nal protection, enables, thanks to the removal of the fuses, to fully disconnect the line with contact distance >3mm.
⎝ It is the installer's responsibility to install it as close as possible to the electrical power supply cut-off switch unit !!
ELECTRICAL ABSORPTION: Make reference to the electrical absorption written on the unit label.
EACH CONTROL PANEL CAN CONTROL ONE SINGLE UNIT ONLY.
NOTE: To control more than 1 unit (or 1 unit with 2 motors) it is recommended to keep the electrical power sup-
ply of the different motors SEPARATE AND INDEPENDENT FROM EACH OTHER. To do so, it is recommended to
install 3 relays (one each speed) by independent contacts (one contact each motor to be controlled) or install
the INTERFACE CHART (accessory): this way should any inconvenience happen to any of the fan motors, it would
not involve nor interfere with the others !!
- For installation of control panel choose an area where the max and min. room temperature limit is respected 0÷45°C ; < 85% U.R.
- Do not install the control panel on metallic walls, if the metallic wall is not permanently earthed.
