During this stage of operations noise levels may be up to 85 dB(A). We recommend that
operators wear hearing protectors.
Before starting work on the tyre and rim, consult and comply with the regulations in
force and with the instructions supplied by the tyre and rim manufacturers.
Fully deflate the tyre, removing the valve.
Remove all the weights from both sides of the rim.
Before breaking the bead, make sure that the wheel is clean and dry.
Place the blade correctly in relation to the tyre so that it operates close to the bead.
IMPORTANT: During the bead breaking operation, you are advised to keep the table top closed
(locking clamp towards center).
Never place any part of the body between the bead breaker shoe the rim and the rim support.
Position the wheel as shown in figure 11 and bring the bead breaker shoe to the edge of the rim.
Press pedal (9) and detach the bead from the rim.
Repeat this operation on the other side of the wheel.

Throughly lubricate the sides of the tyre around the entire circumference with tyre
manufacturer recommended rubber lubricant to facilitate demounting and avoid the risk of
damaging the bead (Fig.12).
IMPORTANT: use only special tyre lubricants approved by the tyre's manufacturer. Never use
hydrocarbon-based lubricants.
Note: When dealing with particularly wide wheels ("Racing"), the pivot of the bead-breaking arm
can be moved from the "Standard" to the "Racing" position (see Fig. 12a).
In this way, it is possible to handle wheels up to 430 mm. wide.
The blade is articulated thus allowing for perfect insertion between bead and rim.
