3.3 Conditions of use

The product is intended exclusively for use on one patient.
CAUTION
Reuse on another patient and improper cleaning
Skin irritation, formation of eczema or infections due to contamination with germs.
► The product should only be used on the patient for whom it was fitted.
If the product is to be used on another patient, it first has to be cleaned with a damp cloth

and mild detergent (e.g. 453H10=1 Ottobock DermaClean) and disinfected.
► If a surface disinfection process using an alcohol-based disinfectant without additional addit­
ives, for example "Terallin liquid", is used for disinfection, the application instructions and
safety notices of the disinfectant manufacturer have to be observed.
If the product is reused by more than one patient (check socket), proper disinfection has to be
ensured.
The product was developed for everyday use and must not be used for unusual activities. These
unusual activities include, for example, sports that require continuous high walking speeds (run­
ning ...) or extreme sports (free climbing, parachuting, paragliding, etc.).
3.4 Indications
• For users with unilateral or bilateral transfemoral amputation
• For users with a normal weight bearing residual limb of conical or cylindrical shape
• For users with daily volume fluctuations of the residual limb
• For users whose residual limb length and residual limb circumference are in the specified
range (see the 647G1239 instructions for use for the 6Y200=* Varos liner).
3.5 Contraindications
• Skin changes in the fitting area (e.g. open sores, skin diseases)
• Sensory disorders on the residual limb
• Pronounced atrophic scars or very bulgy residual limb
3.6 Qualification
Only qualified personnel (e.g. O&P professionals) may prepare the product for use and fit
patients with the product.
