Inlet connector (special accessories)
The inlet connector (Fig. 7, item 2) is required for the
various test adapters (special accessories). Test adap-
ters (Fig. 7, item 3) are used to supply the CRIN with
internal connections with test oil by way of the inlet
connector.
The return quantity of the CRIN is routed via hose
assembly 1 684 462 570 (see Fig. 9, item 1) with the
CRIN hose fitting 1 683 386 192 (see Fig. 9, item 4)
from the "Return quantity test connection" (Fig. 7,
item 1) to the "Return quantity test connection" (Fig.
3, item 3). There are different designs of test adapters.

Installing the test adapter (CRIN)
i
In the EPS 118 software, the type part number of
the injector-specific test adapter can be displayed
after selecting the CRIN. Installation of the latest
EPS 118 software ensures that the type part num-
bers of all injector-specific test adapters (special
accessories) available are displayed.

1. Select the test adapter (Fig. 8, item 2).
2. Check the O-ring in the test adapter for damage
(e.g. cracks).
3. Shove the CRIN (Fig. 8, item 1) into the test adap-
ter. The high-pressure inlet bore hole of the CRIN
must be aligned with the hole for the inlet connec-
tor
(Fig. 8, item 3).
4. Turn the CRIN until the high-pressure inlet bore is
visible in the hole for the inlet connector.
!
Tightening torque must be adhered to when tighte-
ning the inlet connector. Too high tightening torque
can lead to pre-existing defect and breakage of the
inlet connector during the test.
5. Screw the inlet connector into the test adapter and
tighten.
Tightening torque 20 — 25 Nm.
