Assigning an address to the bus coupler

The bus coupler is delivered from factory with a station address
set to "66".
To correctly identify each individual bus coupler within a
PROFIBUS segment, a unique address must be set to each
module.

Assign the station address freely from 2 to 99 using switch
S1 and S2:
– S1: Units digit from 0 to 9
– S2: Tens digit from 0 to 9
– [S2] [S1] = Station address
It is not allowed to assign the same address to two bus
coupler within the same PROFIBUS segment.
If the bus coupler recognizes the invalid value "0" at power-on,
the station address will be automatically set to "126", until the
user changes the station address to the required value.
Changes during operation
Changes to the addressing are only activated after a power
reset.

Never change the settings during operation.

Turn the device off before changing the address setting.

Setting diagnostic messages

To select the desired diagnostic messages the S3 DIP switch is
used.
At delivery, all switches are set to the OFF position. That is,
no diagnostic messages are sent to the bus master. Switch
position S3.6 is not assigned.
