5. CONNECTION WITH PC

The Guarita IP can communicate with a PC through specific software, for example, the free
software for maintenance and equipment setting, produced and distributed by Linear-HCS
(download) or access control software, produced and distributed by integrators partners
(consult us). For such connection, can be used one of the available source of communication
as USB Device, RS232 Serial or TCP/IP. Before the installation of any software, please, read the
details about compatibility and verify if it is compatible with the Guarita IP Firmware current version.

5.1 USB DEVICE CONNECTION (CABLE UP TO 2M / 6,56FT)

It is necessary having the USB driver previously installed in the computer (in case of third-party
software), or the free Linear-HCS software where the USB drivers are already embedded in the
same installation package, confirming the installation if necessary.

5.2 RS232 SERIAL CONNECTION

It is necessary having the free software previously installed in the computer, or an access control
software. According to the existing standard, it is recommended to use serial cables up to 15
meters. To distances above 15 meters, it is recommended to use communication through
TCP/IP. If necessary, reduce the baud rate from 19.200 bps to 9.600 bps.
