Universal plate

The universal plate is used for transferring models
without Splitex retainer/plate into the scanner. It
can be used both to affix individual models as well
as model pairs in occlusion.

_ The top side of the universal plate [1] is level; it
is used to apply modelling wax onto which the
dental models are affixed.
_ Two metal pins are located at the rear side of
the level surface [2]. They represent the rear
limit for placement of the models.
_ The universal holder comprises 16 holes [3].
These are used for placement of the fixation
pins including the fixation spring levers.
Placement in the scanner
▷ Place the universal plate directly on the Splitex
retainer in the scanner.
Through the integrated magnet, the universal
plate is sufficiently fixed on the Splitex holder
without the requirement of additional fastening
elements.
▷ To remove the universal plate from the scanner,
grasp it at the rear or at the sides and lift it out.
Fixation pins incl. fixation spring levers
The fixation pins incl. the fixation spring levers are
used to affix model pairs in occlusion onto the uni-
versal plate.
▷ For this, insert the fixation pins into optimally

plate when being used for model fixation. Other-
wise, they may fall out during the scanning proc-
ess and damage the scanner.
Function method
The fixation via the fixation spring levers takes
place by means of canting/chocking the spring
levers with the fixation pins.
