8. The rail must be installed using appropriate means,
following the safety rules that minimise the risk of
fall which the installer might incur.
9. The use, maintenance and management of travrail
rails should be placed under the responsibility
of people who are conversant with the safety
regulations and standards applicable to this type
of equipment and associated accessories. Each
operator must have read and understood this
manual. When first commissioned, the conformity
of the installation with the prior study file and this
manual must be checked by a competent person.
10. The supervisor responsible for the use of the
rail should monitor it and ensure continuing
compliance of the rail and the PPE associated with
it, with security requirements and the rules and
standards applied in the field. They must ensure
the inter-compatibility of the associated PPE and
compatibility with the rail.
11. The rail and associated equipment should never be
used if they are not in obvious good condition. If a
defect is detected visually or if there is any doubt
whatsoever about the rail, it is imperative to correct
the defect before further use. Periodic control of the
travrail rail must be organised at least once a year,
as described in section 7.4, under the guidance of a
competent person. This check must be carried out
in accordance with the instructions in this manual.
12. Before usage, the operator must perform a visual
examination of the rail and its associated PPE to
ensure that they are in good operating condition,
they are compatible and they are properly installed
and connected.
13. It is prohibited to repair or modify travrail rail
components or to use spare parts not supplied or
recommended by Tractel.
14. Tractel declines any responsibility for the installation
of travrail rails carried out without following the
guidelines of this manual or, otherwise, its prior
agreement.
15. When a travrail rail has been used to arrest an
operator fall, the entire rail, especially the brackets
and connections located in the fall zone, as well as
personal protective equipment concerned by the
fall, must be checked before being put back into
use. This check should be conducted as indicated in
this manual, by a competent person. Components
or non-reusable items should be discarded and
replaced in accordance with the instruction manuals
supplied with these components or elements by
their manufacturers.
16. For the safety of the operator, if this equipment is sold
outside the first country of destination, the dealer
should supply: an operator manual, instructions for
maintenance, for periodic inspections and repairs,
all compiled in the language of the country of use.
17. It is essential for the safety of the operator that the
device or anchoring point is correctly positioned
and that work is carried out in a manner that will
minimise height and the risk of falls.
18. Any travrail rail that has not been periodically
examined in the last 12 months must not be used.
It may only be used again after a periodic review
by a technician who will authorise its return to use
in writing. If this inspection and authorisation is not
carried out, the rail will be decommissioned and
destroyed. Remember that the operator's safety
depends on maintaining the effectiveness and
resistance of the equipment.
19. Danger! while using several pieces of equipment
where the safety function of one may affect or
interfere with the safety function of another.
20. This product is suitable for use in a temperature
range from -35C to +60C
21. This equipment should not be used beyond its limits
