Slider for suspended works (Fig. 10)
Slider with 3 wide wheels, for a perfect rolling when
working in suspension.
DANGER:
To be used obligatorily
standard slider.
IMPORTANT: With this slider, rail must be placed
on a wall.
NOTE: Slider not compliant with the norm.
Sign plate (Fig. 11)
The sign to be placed on rail, made of aluminium.
It informs in particular of the number of authorized
operators at the same time, which maximum is three. It
gives as well the installation date and last checking date
(keep in mind that the rail has to be checked every year).
DANGER: If there is no sign near the rail, do not
use it.

5. Preliminary studies

A preliminary study by an engineer, including strength
of materials, is essential prior to installation of the rail.
This study should be based on a calculation and take
into account the applicable regulations, standards and
standard good practices applicable as well as this
manual, both for the rails and the PPE that must be
connected to them. This manual must be delivered to
the engineer responsible for the preliminary study.
The engineer should study the risks to be covered by
the system based on site conditions and the activity to
be protected by the rail against the risk of falls. Based
on these risks, they should:
• Define the attachment method (type, dimensions,
material) of the rail on the host surface directly or
through posts. travrail rails can be fixed directly onto
a concrete or steel bearing plane or to a reinforcing
bar, depending on the type of host surface.
• Check the strength of all structural supports laying on
the installation area on which the rail has to be fixed,
and the compatibility of the structure with the travrail
brackets.
• Accordingly define the location and quantity of
brackets on the installation area, depending on the
calculated reaction (intensity and direction).
• Establish a description of the site area to be covered
by the facility and a description of the rail installation to
set up with all of its components, and a layout drawing,
depending on the site configuration and constraints
(see "Installation schema & ID form" in chapter 13).
The implementation drawing will provide areas to
access and connect to the rail that are free from any
risk of falling.
The preliminary study will take into account, where
with a fall arrest
relevant, the presence of electrical equipment near
the installation of the rail to ensure protection of the
operator in respect of such equipment.
This preliminary study should be transcribed into
a technical file containing a copy of this manual,
which will be handed back to the installer with all the
information required for its implementation. This file
must be constituted, even if the preliminary study is
carried out by the installer.
Any change in the configuration of the area covered
by the rail that may affect safety or use of the facility
should lead to a revision of the preliminary study before
continuing with the use of the rail. Any changes to the
system should be carried out by a technician who has
the technical expertise to install a new rail.
IMPORTANT: Before any assembly, it is essential
to follow carefully the instructions of this manual.

6.1. Main assembly guidelines

Structural supports shall be made in a way that if
removed from the structure, this can be accomplished
without any damage for the structure or the fixation,
allowing to reuse them, for example, after a periodic
inspection.
As far as possible, the rail should be situated over
the operator in order to reduce the fall height. If not
possible, it is recommended to install the rail in such
a way that the risk of falling and the fall height are
reduced to minimum.
The rail shall be installed in such a way that it can be
seen by the operator.
The use of this rail is only horizontal. Avoid any slope.
Maximum acceptable angle: 5°.
All components have been tested by Tractel and are
compliant with requirements of norm EN 795-D 2012
and TS 16415:2013.
Rail installation shall be made professionally according
to the recommendations of the bolting components
manufacturer.
