Technical Regulation "Safety of Personal Protective Equipment" TP TC 019/2011, Ukrainian "Technical Regulation for Personal Protective Equipment"
and DSTU EN 360:2006 standard. The product consists of: a snaphook; housing; retractable lanyard (line); load Indicator (See figures 4); and
RFID tag (See figures 5), if present. The line material can be stainless steel cable or galvanized steel cable and it is marked on the product label
PN 10121512/10154680 (see figure 9, pos. 13). The product is part of a fall arrest system to EN 363:2008 (Brazilian standard: ABNT NBR 14628;
Argentina standard: IRAM 3605; Customs Union Technical Regulation TP TC 019/2011; Ukrainian standard: ДСТУ EN 363:2007) when attached to the
fall arrest attachment of a fall arrest harness to EN 361 (Brazilian Standard: ABNT NBR 15836; Customs Union Technical Regulation TP TC 019/2011;
Ukrainian standard: ДСТУ EN 361:2008) and an appropriate anchor point. The product shall not be used outside its limitations and intentions. See
harness instructions for approved attachment points. If a user falls, the device will automatically stop the user's descent in a short distance while
limiting the fall arrest force on the user's body.
The product may be RFID enabled.
The product must be used vertically only.
2. Training: It is the responsibility of the user of MSA Retractable type fall arrester to assure that they are made familiar with these User Instructions
and trained by a competent person. Ensure that you have been adequately trained in the use of this product equipment and make sure that you fully
understand how it works.
Chemical hazards, heat and corrosion may damage the product. More frequent inspections are required in these environments. Do not use in
environments with temperatures lower than -40°C and greater than 60°C.
3. Rescue plan: The user must have a rescue plan and the means at hand to implement it; and that plan must take into account the equipment and
special training necessary to effect prompt rescue under all foreseeable conditions. There should be direct or indirect visual contact or some other
means of communication with the rescue at all times during the rescue process.
4. Compatibility of system parts: All components connected to this product MUST be compatible. MSA Retractable type fall arresters are designed to
be used with MSA approved components and connecting subsystems. Connecting subsystems must be suitable for use in the application (e.g. fall
arrest). Refer to the manufacturer's instructions supplied with the component or connecting subsystem to determine suitability. Contact MSA with any
questions or for further information.
5. Physical limitations: The product is designed for one user whose weight, including clothing, tools, and other user-borne objects is less than the load
capacity shown on product label. Good physical condition is necessary in order to carry out work at a height. Certain medical conditions can threaten
the users' safety during normal use of this product and in emergencies (taking medications, cardiovascular problem, etc.). In any case of doubt, consult
your physician before using. Pregnant women and minors MUST NEVER use the product.
6. Operating Procedure:
Connect the product's anchorage bracket to a suitable anchorage with the appropriate connecting hardware conforming to EN 362 (Brazilian Standard:
ABNT NBR 15837; Customs Union Technical Regulation TP TC 019/2011; Ukrainian standard: ДСТУ EN 362:2008) (see figure 2). Only connect
product to a single user (see figure 9, pos. 24). Connect the snaphook to the back D-ring of an approved full body harness. Be sure the snaphook's
gate is completely closed and locked. User must pull quickly on the line and the unit must lock. Inspect load indicator, and the product must be in good
