6.1
General overview of the commissioning
procedure
Check the hazardous area!
Before commissioning commences, it is essential to ensure that no
personnel are located in the hazardous area.
Check the hazardous area and take appropriate measures to
ensure that no personnel can enter it (e.g. warning signs,
barriers, etc.). Observe the relevant legal requirements and local
regulations.
Observe safety regulations and test instructions!
Observe the safety regulations set out in section 2.
During commissioning, all of the device functions are subjected to
a functional test which ensures that the equipment is operating
safely and correctly. Commissioning is performed as follows:

Functional test

Functional test for the LE 20
Machine disabled when at least one of the light beams of any
photoelectric safety switch is broken.
If configured:
External test
Restart interlock (RES)
External device monitoring (EDM)
Functional test for the LE 20 Muting
Machine disabled when at least one of the light beams of any
photoelectric safety switch is broken.
If configured:
External test
Restart interlock (RES)
External device monitoring (EDM)
Muting function and muting indicator lamp
Override function and override lamp
