5.8. TAKING X-RAYS

The unit moves when the following operations are performed. The operator must:
-
Closely monitor the patient and immediately release the button to stop movement if there is a risk of the
device hitting the patient.
-
Prevent the patient from assuming incorrect positions (putting hands or other body parts in inappropriate
areas) or moving out of the examination area.
Make sure all the safety standards have been satisfied before taking the x-ray pictures.
Pressing the button
on the wall-mounted control panel placed outside the room.
At this point, the yellow indicator LED will come on and stay on until the cycle has been completed. No one may enter
the room under any circumstances until the light has gone out signalling x-rays are no longer being emitted. The x-
ray button has to be held down for the entire cycle time (the button works in "dead man" mode) otherwise x-ray
emission will be interrupted and the examination will not be completed.

5.9. VIEWING AND SAVING

In order to correctly view the images obtained by hyperion MRT / hyperion a PC (4.2. Personal Computer), complete
with the program required to view the x-rays images, has to be connected.
Images can be saved without using the PC if a memory card is available and inserted in the port found on
the bottom right-hand side of the control panel, hyperion MRT / hyperion saves the images directly on the
card.
If a PC is not connected or a memory card has not been inserted, hyperion MRT / hyperion can save the images
most recently obtained in its memory, until a PC is connected or a memory card is put in.
hyperion MRT / hyperion stores these images in its memory until it is shut off after which all data that have not been
saved will be lost.
To more easily interpret panoramic images generated by hyperion MRT / hyperion, the following letters are
stamped on the images:
R on the right side of the patient's teeth
L on the left side of the patient's teeth

The quality control consists of performing a normal examination on QA Phantom through an automatic procedure
guided by the iRYS software. This periodic quality control guarantees proper functioning of the device and the validity
of the achieved results.
The control is carried out by a qualified expert or by the dealer who carried out the first installation of the X-ray device
or by another technician authorised by the manufacturer.
To correctly carry out this procedure, see "Acquisition operations" in the iRYS manual and the technical manual.
