13 Transporting the Unit

► Open the throttle slightly.
► Warm up the engine for a short period.
12.5 If the engine does not start

Choke knob

If you did not turn the choke knob to e quickly
enough after the engine began to fire, the com‐
bustion chamber is flooded.
► Turn the choke knob to e.
► Select the starting throttle position.
► Start the engine by pulling the starter rope
briskly – 10 to 20 pulls may be necessary.
If the engine still does not start
► Push the slide control in the direction of the
arrow on the stop symbol (h) to STOP-0.
► Remove the spark plug – see "Spark Plug".
► Dry the spark plug.
► Open the throttle wide.
► Crank the engine several times with the starter
to clear the combustion chamber.
► Refit the spark plug – see "Spark Plug".
► Move the slide control to START.
► Set the choke knob to e – even if the engine
is cold.
► Start the engine.
12.5.2 Throttle Cable Adjustment
► Check adjustment of throttle cable – see chap‐
ter on "Adjusting the Throttle Cable".
12.5.3 Fuel tank run until completely dry
Recommendation: Carry out the following steps
irrespective of the engine's operating condition
before the tank was run dry.
► After refueling, press the manual fuel pump
bulb at least five times – even if the bulb is fil‐
led with fuel.
► Turn the choke knob to g.
► Go to section on "Starting" and re-start the
engine as described for a cold engine.
13 Transporting the Unit
13.1 Using a transport guard
The type of transport guard used depends on the
type of metal cutting attachment supplied with
the machine. Transport guards are also available
as special accessories.

► Unhook retainer from transport guard
► Swing retainer outward
► Fit the transport guard to the cutting attach‐
ment from below, ensuring that the stop is
centered in the recess
