6 Description

FlexFilter EX is designed to filter potentially combust-
ible dust in a high vacuum system and it complies with
the ATEX directive.
It is recommended that the FlexFilter EX is placed out-
doors. Installation indoors is not recommended when
the FlexFilter EX is equipped with an explosion relief
panel.
The dust separators can be fitted with legs of differ-
ent heights and other accessories (see
parts).
The FlexFilter EX (see
of the system and needs to be connected to a suction
source like the Nederman VAC or RBU. (see
B) and a control system like the HV Control Panel EX.

There are several different models of the Flex-
Filter EX so the figures in this manual may dif-
fer slightly from your model.

7 Main parts

7.1 Dust separators

The dust separator (see
from the processed air. There are two standard types
of dust separators.
• Single (one filter)
• Twin (two filters)
The dust separators are modular in their design. The
dust separator is generally equipped with an explo-
sion relief panel, but other types of explosion protec-
tion measures are available. See

for more information.
The dust separators are equipped with a TVFD, Twin
Valve Feed out Device, which facilitates automatic

7.2 Legs

The dust separator needs to be fitted with legs (see
Figure
4/B). The legs come in two different heights:
• High Stand
• Extra-High Stand

The legs are supplied complete including all supports
and fasteners needed to fit them to the dust separat-
or frame (anchor bolts NOT included).
The Extra High Stand legs are the highest legs allowed
the FlexFilter EX
Different legs are used for the single and twin
separators.

7.3 Accessories

Service platform, ladder and connection piece
The FlexFilter EX can be equipped with a service plat-
form (see
Figure
when changing the main and control filters. Anyone
of the rails on the service platform can be removed to
attach a ladder (see

4/G) linking to another service platform.
