17.4 General inspection

• Inspect the integrity of the dust separator, in partic-
ular, the steel clamping rings holding together the
housing/inlet/cone-modules.
• Check the integrity of the frame and all attach-
ments. Tighten bolts if necessary.
• Make sure the inside of the FlexFilter EX and the
connection pipes are free from deposits. A build-up
of deposits inside the piping system may cause a
discharge of static electricity.
• On Twin models, check the inlet pipe for wear. Re-
place the inlet pipe if the inner coating is worn out.
• Make sure the outside of the FlexFilter EX, and par-
ticularly the solenoids, sensors and connection box,
are free from dust layers.
• Clean the area around the FlexFilter EX and all areas
where the collected material is stored to ensure that
there are no dust deposits.
• Ensure that no combustible material is placed in the
risk area.
• Check that all signs/markings regarding safe opera-
tion are in place and that the personnel know about
them.

17.5 Main filter change

The filter bags should normally be replaced after
6000 hours of operation or when damaged. The filter
bags should also be replaced if the filter function is in-
sufficient. The HV Control Panel EX is fitted with a ser-
vice hour meter for recording service hours. Replace-
ment of filters should be registered in the Service pro-
tocol. Individual replacement of filter bags is possible
but replacing the whole filter package, including filter
panel and locking rings, is recommended as it is quick-
er and causes less spreading of dust.
Procedure

filter change.

The coiled spring can be reused with the new con-
ductive filter sock, but the locking ring (see
B) must be replaced when securing the new sock.
Never re-use an old locking ring!

17.6 Control filter change

The control filter should normally be replaced after
6000 hours of operation. The control filter must also
be replaced if damaged or if there is a high-pressure
drop over the control filter.
Procedure
WARNING! Risk of personal injury
The vacuum and compressed air to the FlexFil-
ter EX must be turned off before commencing
filter change.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury
