functions.
Material build-up inside the filter could cause damage
to the filter bags and if collected material has got a
high density, the collector will become very heavy.
During normal operation, ensure that air does not leak
past the lower slide valve. If leakage occurs it will lead
to increased wear of the filter hoses in the dust col-
lector.

17.8 TVFD stop function test

Check the stop function by activating the stop (flip
switch to "0"), during the closing of the lower TVFD.
The valve should stop immediately and the manomet-
er should indicate that the system is without pres-
sure.
Depending on the alarm settings of the control sys-
tem, an alarm indicating an "unclosed valve" might be
triggered by performing this action.

17.9 TVFD Cleaning

WARNING! Risk of personal injury
The vacuum and compressed air to the FlexFil-
ter EX must be turned off before commencing
the cleaning of the TVFD.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury
Use proper protective equipment.
Procedure
1
If possible activate filter cleaning and empty-
ing. This is not recommended to do if the TVFD is
blocked/stuck since it will cause more material to
collect in the TVFD.
2
Shut down the vacuum system or if possible isol-
ate the FlexFilter EX from the system. Ensure that
there is no risk of vacuum returning to the FlexFil-
ter EX during maintenance.
3
Before the closing of the compressed air, turn
the red manual override (see
the solenoid valves (use a small flat head screw-
driver), to open both upper and lower valve (V1
and V2).

17.10 Explosion relief panel

The explosion relief panel is designed to rupture and
open at very low overpressures and must be handled
with great care. Never poke/press or lean against the
relief panel and do not bend the frame securing the
panel.
Inspect the explosion relief panel with the vacuum
unit switched off. Replace it at the first sign of corro-
sion or other damage. No other preventive mainten-
ance is required.

valves.
Reconnect the compressed air to the FlexFilter EX.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury
The relief panel must be kept free from debris
such as snow, ice, leaves and other items that
might block or prevent the explosion panel
from opening.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury
The FlexFilter EX should not be in operation
when replacing the fuse.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury
Ensure that no explosive atmosphere and/or
dust layers are present when cleaning, servi-
cing or inspecting the FlexFilter EX.
