Cleaning
Attention
Do not use high-pressure cleaners when
cleaning the device.
Cleaning the device
■
Clean directly after mowing, if possible.
Park the device on firm and level ground.
■
■
Move the direction-of-travel lever to 'F' or 'R' (does
not apply to all models).
■
Lock the parking brake
Note
There is an elevated risk of rust and corro-
sion if using the device in winter. Clean the
device thoroughly after every use.
Cleaning the cutter deck
Danger
Risk of injury due to sharp cutting blades
Wear safety gloves.
On devices with multiple cutting tools, the movement
of one cutting tool can cause the other cutting tools
to rotate. Clean the cutting tools carefully.
Attention: engine damage
The device must not be tilted to an angle greater
than 30°. Fuel may run into the combustion chamber
and cause engine damage.
■
Set the cutter deck to the uppermost position.
■
Clean the cutting area with a brush, broom or
cloths.
Cutter deck with cleaning nozzle (optional)
Fig. 24
Park the device on level ground free of debris,
stones, etc. and engage the parking brake.
1. Use a commercially available quick-release cou-
pling to attach a water hose. Turn the water on.
2. Start the engine.
3. Lower the cutter deck, and switch on for a few minutes.
4. Switch OFF the cutter deck and engine.
5. Detach the water hose.
Repeat steps 1 to 5 for the second cleaning nozzle
(if provided).
At the end of cleaning process (steps 1 to 5):
■
Set the cutter deck to the uppermost position.
■
Start the engine and switch the cutter deck on for
a few minutes to dry it.
Cleaning the grass catcher
Note
See separate operating instructions entitled
'Grass catcher'.
■
Remove and empty the grass catcher.
■
The grass catcher can be cleaned with a powerful
water jet, for example from a garden hose.
■
Dry thoroughly before using again.
Servicing
Observe the servicing instructions in the engine
manual. At the end of the season, have the device
inspected and serviced by a service centre.
Attention
Environmental hazard due to engine oil
After changing the oil, take the waste oil to a waste
oil collecting point or to a waste disposal company.
Batteries are an environmental hazard
Used batteries must not be disposed of in house-
hold waste. Return used batteries to your dealer
or a disposal company. Remove the battery before
scrapping the device.
Using jump leads
Danger
Never bridge a defective or frozen battery with jump
leads.
Ensure that the devices and the jump lead clips
do not touch each other and that the ignitions are
switched off.
■
Connect the red jump lead to the positive ter-
minal (+) of the flat battery and the donor battery.
Connect the black jump lead first to the negative
■
terminal (–) of the donor battery. Connect the
other terminal to the frame of the engine block of
the vehicle with the depleted battery (as far from
the battery as possible).
Note
If the donor battery is installed in a vehicle,
this vehicle must not be started during the
jump starting process.
■
Start the tractor with the depleted battery and
engage the parking brake.
■
Disconnect the jump leads in reverse order.
