13. Connect the red suction tube connector to the suction connector on the end of the Tricera handpiece as shown

14. Select the joint for the procedure by touching the joint selection touchscreen or using the footswitch.
15. To calibrate the Tricera Controller for the back pressure of the endoscope/sheath combination, the controller will
run a calibration cycle. This process will purge the air from the inflow tubing and will pump fluid out the tip of the
arthroscope for approximately 20 seconds.
16. During the purge and sheath calibration cycle, the arthroscope should be held at the height of the surgical site.
17. Press the green arrow or the middle circular button on the footswitch to active the purge and calibration cycle.
NOTE: Do not close stopcock or insert scope into joint until calibration has completed.
NOTE: If the incorrect joint was selected, return to the joint selection screen by pressing the back arrow in the
bottom left corner of the purge/calibration screen

18. Remove the Tricera Device from the sterile packaging and place onto the sterile table

19. Connect the Tricera Device to the Tricera Handpiece by inserting the Tricera Device into the open end of the
Tricera handpiece
20. Align the Tricera Device/probe tabs with the slots on the Tricera handpiece and ensure that the tabs snap into
place in the Tricera Handpiece slots.
The controller will detect that the device is connected and emit an audible tone.

SYSTEM OPERATION
NOTE: steps 1-4 apply to Veriflow FMA set R-10003 only.

Set the desired joint cavity pressure on the touch screen of the Controller by pressing the plus or minus
buttons below the cavity pressure ring. The cavity pressure can be adjusted at any time during the procedure.

The Tricera Controller will set the following default pressure set point based on the initial joint selection.
Knee: 45mmHg
Shoulder: 50mmHg
Hip: 50mmHg
Small Joint: 35mmHg
Default pressure settings are only suggestions, and each surgery and patient may require different parameters.

To activate the inflow, press the top center button on the footswitch or the play button between the plus and
minus buttons for the set pressure on the GUI screen. When the pump is activated, a blue dot animation will
be active. When the pump is deactivated, no animation will be visible.
