8. USER SECTION: OPERATION
1. DESCRIZIONE DEI COMPONENTI
8.11.1 Parallel operation
The heat pump is not deactivated when the bivalent temperature is rea-
ched and the additional generator that provides the residual thermal power
quota is activated.
The bivalent temperature is determined independently by the PdC when
it is not able to fulfil the thermal load of the house by itself. NOTE: Par.

Secondary
generator operation
Both in the heating of the system and of the DHW, if the HP fails to reach
the target temperature, after a delay the additional heater is activated,
which will then work together with the HP. In detail:
- Additional heater activation: When the water reference temperature
(Par. L562) remains lower than the target (Par. L561) - the differential (Par.
C901) a timer starts. When this timer reaches the set delay time (Par. C902)
the additional heater is activated.
- Deactivation of additional heater: If, thanks to the intervention of the
additional heater, the target water temperature is reached, it is deacti-
vated. The PdC only continues to function.
NOTE: For parallel operation do not change the value of
Par C903 = -20.0 ° C and Par C906 = 1.00 € / kWh
If ParC902 = 119 min the activation of the heating in parallel is disabled

Secondary
generator operation
If a fossil fuel generator is used (e.g. methane boiler) it is possible to ma-
nage the activation in place of the PdC, which will therefore be switched
off, depending on the external temperature.
The heat pump is deactivated when the bivalent temperature is reached
and the addition generator is activated which supplies all the thermal
power up to the design load. The bivalent temperature is set by the user
at Parameter C903.

In detail:
- Boiler activation:
When the external temperature drops below the Bivalence temperature
(Par. C903), with a delay time of 5 min.
- Boiler deactivation:
When the external temperature rises above the Bivalence temperature
(Par. C903) + the Differential (Par. C904), or there is no longer any heating
request.
NOTE* : Note: factory C903 = 20.0 ° C
NOTE:
The consent to the DHW 3-way valve remains operational even when the
boiler is activated.
8.11.3 Alternate operation x alarm
In the event that there is a heating request, but the PdC cannot start up
due to an alarm, the additional heater is activated.
NOTE:
* The consent to the DHW 3-way valve remains operational even when
the boiler is activated.
8.11.4 Additional heater as replacement for economic convenience
In the event that a fossil fuel generator is used (e.g. methane boiler) it is
possible to manage its activation in place of the PdC, which will therefore
be switched off, if economically advantageous.
In detail:
− Calculation of the operating costs of the PdC and boiler:
In heating mode, then excluding DHW, in the set time interval (Par. C902)
the operating cost of the PdC is calculated (Par. L905). At the same time,
the operating cost of the boiler is calculated (Par. L906).
− Boiler activation:
When the operating cost of the PdC (Par. L905) is higher than the operating
cost of the boiler (Par. L906).
− Boiler deactivation:
When the external temperature rises above the Bivalence temperature
(Par. C903) + the Differential (Par. C904), or there is no longer any heating
request, or three hours have elapsed.
Note: The additional replacement heater is disabled for economic
convenience and enabled by changing the C905-906-907 parameter
values. C906=1.0 OFF
The aforementioned function can only be used when there is an
electrical energy meter and the MIRAI-SMI flow meter.
