Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting can only be carried out by trained personnel who have understood the instructions in this manual
and the accompanying documentation.
Situations that can lead to a failure are normally attributable to a lack of or poor maintenance or a failure of some
mechanical and/or electrical/electronic component of the tool or a situation related to the product being handled.
The following table lists possible faults that can occur on the tool. The "Cause" column shows the cause of the
fault condition.
The "Solution" column shows the corrective action to resolve the fault situation that has occurred.
The manual and/or documentation of the component/equipment must be consulted for a diagnosis of the problems
with the trade equipment supplied.
FAULT
The tool does not
work.
The chain stops.
Lubrication is insuffi-
cient.
The chain (16) stut-
ters while cutting.
The chain pruner has
no power.

CAUSE
a) ON/OFF switch (5) in OFF posi-
tion.
b) Chain (16) lacking the appropri-
ate tension.
c) Battery pack discharged.
d) Battery connector not inserted
e) Damaged connector
a) Insufficient lubrication. Low oil
level in the tank (20).
b) Chain (16) lacking the appropri-
ate tension.
c) Non-compliance with cutting con-
ditions
a) Insufficient lubrication. Low oil
level in the tank (20).
b) Lubrication pump clogged with
cutting waste.
a) Chain (16) worn or damaged.
a) Battery pack discharged.
b) Battery at end of life or to be re-
placed
REMEDY
a) Move the switch (5) to the ON position.
b) Adjust the chain (16) tension by using the
adjusting screw (17) of the bar (15).
c) Recharge the battery.
f) Insert the connector
g) Contact a CAT
a) Top up the oil in the tank (20) through the
cap (11).
b) Adjust the chain tension (16) by turning
the bar adjustment screw (17).
c) See chap. 5.3 working and sectioning

a) Top up the oil in the tank through the cap

b) Remove the front casing (2) and clean it of
cutting waste.
c) Take the tool to an authorised service
centre for repair.
