ADJUSTMENT OF THE RETAINING DISK

The retaining disk has four rabbets where the cord goes. These rabbets must
be correctly positioned. If the cord does not touch the rabbet, it will not be
caught between the retaining clamp and disk and will not be able to be cut by
the blade. In order to function perfectly, the measure indicated in fig.145 must
be 0 through 2 mm.
IMPORTANT: This verification must be done with the cord caught in the disks.
If there is a difference, the distance indicated in fig.145 can be adjusted as
described below.
With the power socket of the tractor disconnected:
1- Loosen the nut A (fig.146).
2- With a hammer, carefully hit the end of the shaft (on the side of the worm),
moving the shaft and the pinion upwards.
3- Turn the disk to obtain the adjustment indicated in fig.145.
4- After adjusting the disk, hit the end of the shaft (on the pinion side) to move
it back to the original position. Retighten the nut A.
