4. Preparation

What sizes of cut to use?
If you do not have previous experience
on the property that can help you
determine the ideal cut size for your
working conditions,
4.11- Number of rotor knives
The chopping rotors of the harvester are
designed to chop with 12, 6, 4 or 3 knives.
The quantity of knives used should take into
account the following aspects:
ƒ Crop (type, age, etc);
ƒ Purpose of harvest (silage, daily treatment);
ƒ Tractor power;
ƒ Cutting size desired.
It is recommended for:
Harvesting corn and sorghum: 12 knives.
Harvesting sugar cane and elephant grass:
4 or 6 knives.
Your Harvester leaves the factory with 12
knives on each rotor.
