4. Preparation
4.14- Speed of drums
Using different combinations of sprocket
wheels (A) and (B), different drum speeds are
obtained. The ideal speed depends on several
factors, such as: type, size and density of the
plants to be harvested, harvest conditions,
etc.
Your machine leaves the factory with the
setting that best suits most crops, with 16 and
25 tooth sprockets. It is recommended to start
the operation with this configuration and, if
necessary, test different speeds to find the
one that best suits the crop being harvested.
To change the drum speed, proceed
as follows:
ATTENTION!
Turn off the tractor and remove
the ignition key before starting
the following procedure.
First, check to which chopping size the

machine is set (see which pair of cutting
gear (E) is being used on the machine);
Find on the following pages the chart

corresponding to the pair of cutting gears
mounted on the machine;
Replace the two sprockets (A) and (B), as

specified in the table;
In the chart you can see that for each pair of
sprockets-wheels (A) and (B) corresponds a
different speed of the drums;
Changing the sprockets wheels (A) and (B),
different drum speeds are obtained.
The tables also show the length of the chain.
